  • Who are the professionals you need to consult and why
  • How to manage your emotions and help your children cope with theirs during this time

Presented by experienced professionals who are consultants at the Creative Relationship Center, and members of WNY Collaborative Law Professionals, Ltd., and NYS Council on Divorce Mediation.

 

Wendy Pegan, MS, NCC, LMHC.

Wendy is the founder of Creative Relationship Center. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Relationship Coach and Family and Supreme Court-rostered mediator with extensive experience in separation, divorce and helping families maintain integrity through the process. She also serves as a mediator for the Center for Resolution and Justice. Her mission is to keep children and their families safe from the courts system by meeting as many of their needs possible at the Center. Her workshops on helping couples communicate are used in both mediating marriages to become stronger, as well as in the separation/divorce process. Workshops for children include: Children Surviving Divorce, Youth 4 Success and Goddesses in Training for pre-teen and teen girls. Ms. Pegan has served on the board for the YWCA, KidsPeace for Kids in Crisis, ABBA and is a member of the NYS Divorce Mediators and the Association for Conflict Resolution.

 

James Lazarus, Esq.

 James A. Lazarus is a trained mediator and is admitted to the New York State Bar. He has in excess of five years experience working with individuals and families in the mediation/dispute resolution forum, after many years of experience in litigation practice in Family, Supreme, Surrogate’s and other courts throughout the State of New York. In addition to the legal and mediation practice, Mr. Lazarus has been on a number of not-for-profit boards and is involved in a number of community organizations in a consulting and advisory capacity; schools, churches, sports clubs and other organizations and businesses.

 

Tim Sobolewski, CFP®

 Tim is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional with the Financial Planning Center, a Registered Investment Adviser in Amherst, NY. He specializes in fee-only financial planning and investment management for the middle class, and works as part of the mediation team at the Creative Relationship Center, providing financial advice and analysis. Tim was previously a Vice-President at HSBC Securities and Bank of America Investments. He is on the board of the Financial Planning Association of Western New York and is a member of Financial Planning Counselors of Western New York.
